Health and safety that gets people home. Honesty that gets them through.
I’m Andy Bishop. Twenty two years in the British Army, followed by many years again in health and safety across the construction, manufacturing and aerospace industries, and a lifetime living with bipolar disorder. I know what it’s like to carry something heavy and not have the words for it. That’s why Human Angle exists.
Good health and safety isn’t just paperwork and box ticking. It’s people getting home safely, feeling able to speak up when something isn’t right, and knowing where to turn when life gets on top of them. I bring practical consultancy, training and lived experience speaking together under one roof, because to me they’ve never been separate jobs.
Whether you need a safety problem sorted, training built around your actual team, or a speaker who won’t sugarcoat it, let’s have a proper conversation about what will help.
Why I do this
I’ve carried coffins for mates who should still be here.
I’ve had the conversations you never forget. I’ve pulled someone back from the wrong side of a bridge. I’ve lost close friends to suicide, and there was a point in my own life, living with bipolar disorder, when I very nearly became a statistic myself.
This is not sales pitch, it’s why I do the job I do in the way I do it. I say things on site, in training rooms and on stages that people expect a “health and safety bloke” to stay quiet about. It’s not weak to speak. I’ve built my career, and a whole community called ManGang, around that one line.

Every workplace is different. That is why we keep things practical, clear and built around the people and risks in front of you.
Health and safety consultancy
Practical advice and support for construction clients, contractors and supply chains. From risk assessments and safe systems of work to fire safety, manual handling and wider compliance support.
Bespoke training
Training built around your people, workplace and the challenges you are actually dealing with. Useful knowledge, practical confidence and something people can take back into their day-to-day work.
Wellbeing and stress management
Support to create better conversations around wellbeing, spot concerns earlier and give people practical ways to look after themselves and those around them.
Speaking and events
Honest, relatable talks about mental health, stress, suicide prevention, physical wellbeing and the human side of health and safety.
Experience matters. So does being human.
My background includes the Army and years working in health and safety across high-risk environments, including manufacturing, aerospace and construction.
I have also seen what happens when people bottle things up and try to carry on alone. That personal experience is a big part of why I do this work.
I do not believe people need more jargon, more fear or another generic presentation. They need support that makes sense, conversations that feel safe to have and advice they can actually use.
Human Angle brings professional health and safety knowledge together with a personal, honest approach to wellbeing.
“Health and safety works best when people feel able to speak up, ask for help and look out for one another.”
Lived experience speaking
The conversations people remember are the honest ones.
Some subjects are difficult to bring into a workplace. Stress. Mental health. Suicide. Feeling like you are struggling. The risk of staying silent.
I speak about these subjects in a way that is real, respectful and grounded in lived experience. There is no preaching and no pretending that a single talk fixes everything.
What a good talk can do is give people permission to think differently, start a conversation and recognise that looking after yourself or someone else is never a weakness.
Talk topics
- Mental health and wellbeing at work
- Stress and the pressure people carry
- Suicide prevention and starting better conversations
- Physical wellbeing and looking after yourself
- The human side of health and safety
- Men’s wellbeing and breaking the stigma around asking for help
Let’s talk about what your people need.
If you need practical health and safety support, training that fits your workplace or a speaker who will connect with your audience, I would be pleased to hear from you.
Tell me a little about what is happening and we can work out the best next step.
